At Parkgate Locksmiths, we only repair existing conservatory doors and will have no intention of trying to sell you a new door or even a new conservatory!
When the locks fail on a uPVC conservatory door, it can often be still in a closed position. This is where the skill and experience of a professional locksmith come into its own. We will be able to open the door with little fuss and then replace the faulty locking mechanism.
There is always a reason why a conservatory door fails, we will investigate and find out why the lock failed and ensure that it will not happen again in the near future. Typically, the failure of the locking mechanism on a conservatory door is because of alignment problems making it difficult to lock the door and eventually cause a breakage within the lock itself.
Parkgate Locksmiths will realign the door, fit a new mechanism if required and check that the locking process is smooth and correct.
Regardless of how old the lock is, we will be able to replace the parts. Just recently we have replaced locks that have been fitted by Everest, Coldseal, Anglian, Staybrite and Yorkshire Windows. All these doors were out of warranty and over 10 years old. Some of the door locks were replaced with exactly the same as originally installed, the others had upgraded locks fitted.
If the handles are looking worn, these can be replaced as well, giving the door a “like new” appearance. The old barrels can be upgraded to high-security anti-snap versions.
All parts fitted are guaranteed for two years and we would expect at least ten years of future use.
